The Social Motives of Creative Work in Science

The socio-practical motivation of creative research raises a series of fundamental questions to make sense of. First, what are the extent and limits of dependence of scientific results on personal incentives and social values? Second, what is the hierarchy of motivational factors and how they correlate with the structure and mechanisms of society? And third, what the meaning of creative freedom consists in and how its relative subordination to the historical-cultural context of epoch should be understood?
