The inductive, deductive, and hypothetico-deductive methods not merely do not embrace all the multiformity of research tasks; separated from each other, they turn out to be entirely unfit for theorization. Each of them expresses an inherent facet of theoretical reasoning, and the problem consists not in finding means and ways of their harmonization in the dynamics of scientific research, but in reconstructing the dynamic pattern of theory building. Misunderstanding of the integral character of theoretical thinking leads to underestimate of such pivotal methods as analysis and synthesis, while just in them, the methods the teachings of which get turned into particular and enisled “logics” find the ground for their unity. The object of this paper is to reveal the one-sidedness of like conceptions and the limits of applicability of individual methods as well as to substantiate the necessity and modes of their integration in theoretical thinking.
