The Nature of Question in Its Classical Perspective. II. The Unknown within the Known

The pitfalls and difficulties the Socratic talk meets with are exposed. Plato’s conception of question as the problem of finding a ready answer dwelling in the soul is critically examined. The author reconstructs Aristotl’s classification of questions and reveals the motives and the sense of his bringing question out of the framework of logic and confining it within the narrow limits of rhetoric and dialectics.
