A New View on the Nature of Leadership

Leadership, as well as management, is closely related to the rule of human groups which may be divided, in the broadest meaning, into two categories: formal organizations and informal associations. Rule in formal groups appears to be predominately administration, while in informal ones, governance. In turn, the main method of administration is management. As to governance its chief way of influencing people is leadership. Thereby, acting as two faces of rule, leadership and management turn out to be twin-born antipodes. They have opposite orientations but a common purpose – to compel fulfilling the goals set from people.
